Mother Teresa Pera

Teresa Pera is born in Turin on 16th February 1870. Her family moves to Milan in 1874.

She feels strongly called ad gentes and enters the Canossian Institute in 1895. She can fulfil her missionay ideal in Hong Kong where she carries out an intense apostolic activity.

With serenity she accepts the diagnosis of a throat cancer which gnaws her vocal cords, essential means for her activities.

In 1932 she is called back to Italy to accomplish responsible tasks at Vimercate and Milan. Here, too, the cancer is persistent to any therapy. She dies on 26th June 1938 in the odour of sanctity.
